Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Tinnitus Research Initiative (TRI) welcomed participants to Berlin for its annual International TRI Conference.\u00a0 The Congress Scientific Committee directed by Prof. Dr. med. Birgit Mazurek and Prof. Dr.Berthold Langguth chose the motto “Jump the wall \u2013 discover and uncover gaps”, as it not only is particularly symbolic of Berlin and the Charit\u00e9, but also because it resonates deeply with the field of tinnitus research itself:\u00a0Tinnitus is a complex and multifactorial condition \u2013 millions of people worldwide are affected, and often also suffer from burdensome comorbidities. Therefore, the programme of TRI Conference 2026 highlighted the belief that interdisciplinary collaboration is the key to advancing and fostering the diagnosis and treatment of tinnitus and other hearing impairments.<\/p>\n

The Tinnitus Centre Charit\u00e9 and our Foundation jointly organized the TRI Conference this year. We are very happy to have welcomed over 300 clinicians and researchers from 39 countries across diverse fields. Participants represented disciplines such as otology, neurology, neuroscience, neurosurgery, psychology, psychosomatics, psychiatry, psychoacoustics, neurolinguistics, and bioinformatics, in addition to a wide array of basic research domains and\u00a0self\u00a0help. They all came to Berlin to exchange expertise, share insights, and explore innovative scientific approaches for developing effective diagnostic tools and evidence-based therapies that can genuinely benefit tinnitus patients. The conference also provided a platform for early-career researchers to engage with leading scientists.<\/p>\n

We would like to thank\u00a0all who participated in TRI Conference 2026 in Berlin!!\u00a0Your invaluable contributions were key to its success. We hope that you not only had a\u00a0lively and inspiring scientific exchange, but also plenty of opportunities to connect, build new relationships and establish partnerships that may lead to future collaborations and joint projects.
