Guided by the conviction that tinnitus and hearing disorders must be treated as effectively as possible \u2014 and that at the same time each individual can do a great deal to protect themselves \u2014 the German Foundation Tinnitus and Hearing Charit\u00e9 (known as the German Foundation Tinnitus Charit\u00e9 until 2019) was established in 2011.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"628\"><strong data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"511\">The Foundation Tinnitus &amp; Hearing Charit\u00e9 pursues the following aims:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"628\">promoting research<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"628\">international networking and scientific communication<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"628\">prevention and public education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"630\" data-end=\"925\">Through our research projects, we deepen the understanding of how tinnitus and other hearing impairments develop, gain insights into their links with associated conditions, examine the medical evidence behind existing treatment methods, and support the development of new therapeutic approaches. Since 2019, we have honoured outstanding work by young researchers with the <a href=\"https:\/\/stiftung-tinnitus-und-hoeren-charite.org\/en\/home\/what-we-do\/research-prize-2\/\">Tinnitus &amp; Hearing Research Prize.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1337\">Scientific events such as our <a href=\"https:\/\/stiftung-tinnitus-und-hoeren-charite.org\/en\/home\/what-we-do\/science-communication-2\/\">congresses and symposia<\/a> enable tinnitus experts to exchange the latest findings in research and treatment. The Foundation, in turn, makes the results of the presented clinical studies accessible to the public, thereby contributing to greater awareness and education.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;9536&#8243; img_size=&#8221;500&#215;500&#8243; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1339\" data-end=\"1564\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eutinnet.org\/en\/\">The European Tinnitus Network (EUTINNET)<\/a> was established in 2019 under the Foundation\u2019s umbrella to strengthen the connections between self-help organisations across Europe and to build bridges between science and practice.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1566\" data-end=\"1901\">With our awareness campaign \u201cI hear something you don\u2019t\u201d and many other <a href=\"https:\/\/stiftung-tinnitus-und-hoeren-charite.org\/en\/home\/what-we-do\/education\/\">prevention projects<\/a>, we aim to raise public awareness of hearing health. We want to inform children and young people, working adults, and older people alike about how tinnitus and permanent hearing disorders develop, so they can protect themselves in good time.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;9518&#8243; img_size=&#8221;500&#215;500&#8243;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"1919\">Our statutes<\/strong><br data-start=\"1919\" data-end=\"1922\" \/>On 4 August 2011, the Foundation Tinnitus and Hearing Charit\u00e9 \u2014 then named the German Foundation Tinnitus Charit\u00e9 \u2014 was recognised as a charitable foundation under civil law by the Senate Department for Justice of the State of Berlin (ref. no. 3416\/992\/2).
