Revision of the S3 guideline “Chronic Tinnitus”

The first online meeting of all tinnitus experts involved in the revision of the S3 guideline ‘Chronic tinnitus’ took place today. The project is headed by our Chairwoman of the Foundation Board, Prof Dr Birgit Mazurek, and Prof Dr Gerhard Hesse, member of our Scientific Advisory Board. In addition to specialist ENT doctors and scientists, psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrist, neurologists, audiologists, physiotherapists, dentists and paediatricians – in each case on behalf of the relevant professional associations – also leading members of the tinnitus self-help community and the head of our European Tinnitus Self-Help Network EUTINNET participated in the working meeting. The leading professional association is the German Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery (DGHNO-KHC).

The new version of the guideline will be developed under supervision and strictly in accordance with the regulations of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF) and will be published in 2026. The translation into English will follow afterwards. #ent #tinnitus
